Biography[]
When Veran's trader train traveled to Camp Natalon for the wedding of Terregar and Silstra (Kindan' sister), the travelers' children were left behind at Crom Hold. After the wedding, Terregar and Silstra followed the trader custom which says that a bride and groom must spend the night in a caravan. The next morning, the train traveled back to Crom Hold, with the final destination being smithcrafthall in Telgar Hold.
When Tarri allowed Halla, and a few children who were traveling with her, to ride with the trader train, Veran didn't trust Halla, assuming that she was Shunned. But, after talking with her about her past experiences, he changed his mind. After he decided that Halla would make a good trader, he told her he'd spread the word with the other traders and, by the end of the next sevenday, she'd be welcome at any trader fire across Pern.
