Year's End, later called Turn's End, marked the end of the year on Pern. It occurred in mid-winter. It was celebrated by Turnover, a holiday lasting several days. Gifts were often exchanged. At Turn's End the Lord Holders held a Conclave.

In the late First Interval, it was traditional for teachers from the College to spend the holiday at Fort Hold, enjoying Chrislee's feasts. The new ballad "Landing Suite" premiered at Turn's End.
