Varena was a weyrwoman at Southern Weyr during the Ninth Pass. Her dragon was gold Ralenth. Varena moved to Benden Weyr after the Oldtimers were exiled to the Southern Continent, and she was at High Reaches Weyr when Brekke's Wirenth rose to mate before the queen fight between Wirenth and Prideth.
