Nabol Shield

Hold Steward and took over the Hold after Fax was killed in 2505.

Practically nothing is know about Meron, except he was appointed by the infamous Lord Fax, after whose death, he became Lord Holder.

At the Gather organised to coincide with Lord Groghe's Spring Festival, he was attended by Hittet, who described himself as «of the Blood» as well as numerous other heirs all hoping to be named as Lord. At this time Meron was dying from a wasting disease that caused him excuciating pain and caused his rooms to sink with a sweet, cloying, sickly smell that induced nausia.

He has a very distant relative by the name of Deckter, (child of a niece, nephew or grand-nephew) and so an unknown blood kin.  He was a carter and ran a business between Nabol and Crom. Meron hoped that his appointment would cause mischief. However, Meron did not realize he had been tricked by Masterharper Robinton and T'bor, Weyrleader of High Reaches Weyr.

Appearance and Personality

He was a sharp face man, Lord Larad of Telgar Hold, during the march to Benden Weyr He didn't trust the Ex-Warder with no blood.

Several characters describe him as perverted. He is also prone to fits of tempter and enjoys thinking up cruel and unusual punishments for miscreants in his Hold.

Towards the end of his life he suffered from a wasting disease, described by Sebell as «a very proper disease to fit Lord Meron's…peculiar ways!» It is also implied by others that this is some sort of sexually transmitted disease.

His many daughters are considered ugly as they «carry the unmistakable stamp of their sire».
