Captain Kaarvan was a sailor on Pern during the First Pass. His ship was the Pernese Venturer.
Biography[]
Kaarvan was part of the crew that helped move crucial supplies away from Landing to Kahrain prior to the eruption of Mount Garben. He also sailed people and goods from the south to Fort Hold in the north as part of the Second Crossing.
When Jim Tillek was injured during the Crossing, Kaarvan sailed back from Fort to take over Jim's duties until he was fit for duty.

Kaarvan was usually serious, not smiling much.
