Ifor was a harper at Tillek Hold late in the Eighth Interval.
Biography[]
Ifor was assigned to Tillek as a journeyman at the same time as journeyman Robinton. Master Minnarden asked Robinton to train up Mumolon and Ifor because neither got the top rating that Robinton had received from the Hall Drum Master.
Minnarden also told Robinton, "Both Mumolon and Ifor are good harpers, excellent teachers, but couldn’t compose if you gave them words and music to put together. That’s your special skill, I understand … and don’t turn modest on me." That, and the fact that Robinton was trying to impress Kasia, made him a bit self-conscious. When he discovered that Mumolon and Ifor envied Robinton his smooth-paced Ruathan runner, he volunteered to take the farthest assigned sweep. And, since Robinton was living in the same quarters as Mumolon and Ifor, he tried to keep secret the fact that he was only 15 Turns when he walked the tables for his Journeyman's knot.
After Kasia's funeral and after Robinton moved his things back into his bachelor room, Ifor and Mumolon did all they could to bear him company, see that he ate, make him lie down in his bed—for he could seem to do nothing at all.
