Fort Weyr Healer Hall Telgar Weyr

Bekka was a Healer and dragonrider late in the Second Interval and early in the Third Pass. Her dragon was gold Pinorth.

History[]

When Tintoval asked Fiona if she would let her train Bekka - because, as she was a journeyman healer, she could have an apprentice - Fiona asked her, "Don't you want to meet her first?" She replied, "From what I've heard, I meet her every morning in the mirror."

After Bekka's father S'ban lost his dragon, he also began training as a healer. Seban and Bekka originally trained together at Fort Weyr, but after all the Telgar Weyr dragonriders got stuck in a between "time knot", Bekka and Seban moved to Telgar with Fiona. Later, they both received journeyman status at Healer Hall.

Bekka accompanied Lorana and Fiona when they took the dragonriders and weyrlings to Eastern Weyr to grow and train. While there, Bekka Impressed Pinorth, who hatched from the two hundred and fifty-three egg combined clutch. Bekka then accompanied Xhinna when she took the weyrlings to Sky Weyr.

While Xhinna was recovering from injuries she received from J'keran's knife attack, Bekka told Xhinna that, since she was a healer, she had instructed Pinorth to order Tazith not to fly Xhinna anywhere until Bekka said it was okay.

Personality and Traits[]

Bekka was an accomplished midwife, like her mother Merika.

Tintoval and Fiona soon discovered that she was every bit as smart - and irrepressible - as her mother, Merika, had warned.

She had a big heart and she would listen, but she wouldn’t follow orders unless she was convinced.

Bekka was known as the "The one who never sleeps." Instead, she would take short naps, like a fire-lizard.

Not only was Bekka's cheerful energy infectious, she was also genuinely concerned for the well-being of both injured rider and dragon, to the point of running up and down the stairs to the infirmary on several different errands and still finding time to give words of comfort to both dragon and rider.
